Many of the problems users have today are related to the internet. Spyware, pop-ups, and viruses all find their way onto your computer through the web browser. By upgrading to a more secure browser you can avoid many of these problems.
Firefox is a web browser that was developed from the ground up to replace Internet Explorer as a secure web browsing environment. By default it will not allow programs to be run either in the background (a common way for spyware to install itself) or when downloaded. You must first authorize the install. This prevents most, if not all, spyware from installing on your computer. Firefox also has limited popup capabilities which can be enhanced through additional Firefox Extensions.
Firefox installs quick (only 4.7MB) and has many extra features (tabbed browsing, popup blocker, etc) that make browsing the internet a safer more enjoyable experience.
